ABOUT THE ROLE
Our design team is hiring for a Senior UX Designer with specialisation in UI and Visualisations. What we are building toward requires exceptional visual design, interaction design, and good service design practices executed to a high standard. This is a hands-on delivery role: you will design, prototype, and ship production-ready work directly alongside engineers, product managers, and AI scientists working on cutting-edge technologies. While this role will also have opportunities to collaborate in service design activities, we are looking for someone with exceptional UI skills in 2D Visualisation (additionally, experience in 3D modelling for web and mobile applications is highly preferred).
Responsibilities:
- Design high-quality mobile/web interfaces for cross-platform products, covering complex data-rich screens with visual and scientific precision.
- Build and govern a scalable design system — components, tokens, and documentation that engineering can implement directly.
- Create accurate 2D representations of mechanical and industrial systems, designing how fault states and diagnostics are communicated through them.
- Design motion and interaction patterns — micro-animations, transitions, and state changes — spec-ready for engineers.
- Represent the design team in Dev-Handoff meetings and consult on UI Design implementation challenges.
- Translate UX flows into pixel-perfect designs, produce detailed handoff specs, and own the visual quality of every shipped surface.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
UI Skills:
- Visual design fundamentals — typography, colour systems, spacing, and grid
- Design systems: components, tokens, and documentation
- Data visualisation — dashboards, alerts, real-time indicators
- Iconography and custom illustration
- Advanced Figma — variables, auto-layout, components, prototyping
- Accessibility: contrast, touch targets, legibility at small sizes
- UI Audits and Benchmarking
Motion and Interaction Design:
- Micro-animations and loading state design
- Screen transitions communicating hierarchy and flow
- Lottie / After Effects for engineer handoff
- Interaction specs: duration, easing curves, trigger conditions
UX:
- Journey Mapping and running Design Workshop Sessions.
- Usability Testing with customers for quick iterations.
- Running moderated and unmoderated client feedback sessions.
Good to Have
- Prior experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or IoT / hardware-connected products.
- Experience building customer journey maps.
- Educational Background: B.Des/M.Des or graduation in a relevant Science or Engineering domain.
